FAA rule changes on rest. That means we may not need to negotiate duty day and rest rules in contract language if the FAA regs are just as good.

Reform coming on healthcare that could change the bottom line on benefits.

Should pilots be signing contracts this year?

If the FAA mins improve what you have now why would you want to waste negotiating capital on something the government has given you for free?

I agree!! if the FAA approves tolerable mins then you negotiating committee can use the capital and pay rates and etc.

ALPA helped draft the new proposed rules, so ALPA NCs know what they need to negotiate and what they don't. No reason not to press ahead with new contracts.

the 11 hour flight time limit looks like they are going to allow transcon roundtrips and international legs without a relief crew. This will take into account a max duty day limit.

Hi!

11 hours of flight time is no big deal, when coupled with a 12 or 13 hour duty day.

If you disagree, then how about this "better" schedule, because it is less than 8 hours of flying:
7 hours of flying in a two-crew 25 hour duty day. All A-OK by the FAA!

I would welcome 11 hours of flying, in a shorter duty day, as long as multiple TOs/Ls, and late night/early morning penalties.

And what about the FAA allowed unlimited reserve periods? My longest was 240 hours, until being called for a trip!
