I certainly wont pass judgement or question WHY you cant get a 3K loan....what kind of training requires 3K? can the trainer finance you and you can work to pay it off?...
but if cant get a loan even sub prime for 3K, I wouldn't chance borrowing even just the 3K. They are telling you you very well might not pay it back as required and that will trash your credit even more...and take even longer to fix...
maybe just live off Ramen and work more until you have the 3K?? Is that an option? any family/friends you can beg from? anything of value you can sell???
again, not diving into your personal life by any means - but if you get a paycheck (even from Walmart) you can usually borrow that kind of money anywhere...
I wouldn't borrow anything right now...not from a bank and certainly not from a credit card....that would be about 22% interest at your credit rating!!! NO WAY.
Just a suggestion.

They say "they can't let me work off the cost of the training" Why? who knowsGulfstream 200 said:any company that wont pay 6K for your SIC training is not worth a $hit. Why dont they front the cost and let you work it off on realistic terms?? How much they going to pay you??
You may just fork over 6K (6K you CLEARLY dont have) and then find yourself without a job or something...with worse credit than you initially had...
I would save your money. This sounds like a TERRIBLE deal..it smells real bad.....say Thank You, I simply cant afford it.
an opinion....walk from this one

don't know if it would work, but wouldn't hurt to find out.
