Here it was Xmas night we get in to Lubbock (one of our tropical destinations at AA) it had been a long night of full flights etc...We got in about 10:30 p.m. the hotel informed us that they had dinner prepared for all the airlines that stay there, we were excited as we were all hungry, we come in and they had made us turkey, dressing, ham, pumkin pie all the good stuff, it was delicious, to make a long story short, another crew came in from another airline, we won't say who, but they are primarily based out of Love Field, I have got to say, they had the sorriest attitudes I have ever encountered, the guy that cooked for everyone volunteered to stay until all the crews had come in and eat, mind you this was Xmas night at 11:00 p.m. by the time we got in and got down there, the other crew bitched and moaned about the food, they didn't like it, it wasn't up to par for them, I wanted to jump up from the table and tell them to take it somewhere else, but I (for once) did mind my own business, just listening to the ungrateful attitudes from both the pilots and mostly the flight attendants, this was a free meal that someone spent time preparing and it was a welcome sight for three hungry crew members who not only appreciated this but tipped the guy very well for his efforts, I have kept my tongue tied lately discussing their poor attitudes but encountered this again while in Midland, we waited on them in the van as they staggered out of the airport taking their time, then got their catty comments on the van ride over there, my captain said they just can't help themselves as they are so full of themselves they don't know what they are saying half the time. None of us are better than the other, we all do the exact same job, maybe some of you do it with more crew members but I go at it alone, deal with my pax's professionally and courtesously, my job isn't to put on a comedy show but for the safety, I treat my other crew members with respect as well as other airlines crew members and I have never encountered the piss poor attitudes of only one airline, I could go on and on, but won't just wanted to throw my two cents in on the lack of common courtesy that was shown by one specific airline, I hope they don't treat everyone the way they did that night, it was totally in bad taste. :(

One thing regarding the meal at the hotel, and this particular airline that you are possibly talking about, they either have their meals provided to them, or highly discounted per their contract. Is it right that their attitude wasn't to your standards, no. But who knows what their duty day was like or the attitudes they encountered while flying. I know often times people's work follows them 'home'. Do you know how the food usually is at this particular hotel? Maybe that crew does and was surprised at the quality, or lack-of, the food...maybe it was bad, and you were just too hungry/grateful to even think about it.

Did the Midland (other airline) crew know that you were waiting for them? Did they know that the same van would be used for both crews? Often times when I get to a van, the driver sometimes says..."we're just waiting for another airline crew, when they show up, we'll be on our way" and when the crew shows up, they are just as surprised to see us as we are them. You can tell that they were just taking their time, but they didn't know we were waiting on them.

sorry that you had two horrible encounters with this airlines crews, but don't judge them all by the minority...

Well I know that we all have bad days at the airlines. Esp during high peak travel times when there are a lot of not very seasoned travelers out there, but the bottom line is there is never an excuse to be disrespectful. You would not stand for it from a pax and so why should someone who is going out of their way for you have to put up w/ it? If your day was that bad slam click and get it over with, and for that matter if your day is always that bad then maybe it is just time for you to move on.

Those are 2 of the longest sentences I have ever seen. LOL just bustin

I have to agree, that kind of stuff drives me crazy too. However, what goes around comes around.

disrespectful pax are all skating on thin ice. one of these days they will piss off the wrong f/a and will see whats its like to feel our wrath!:angryfire

get a life? oh golly gee mrs scroggs, lol, ya better watch out ! lol!
seriously i know what ya mean mrs scroggs, lots of em are no picnic to have on a flight. of course anybody who would tell you to get a life obviously is not an f/a and has no idea what its like to be one.!

usually the pax are ok. i havent really had nasty attitude pax. maybe a little cranky, but you can tell its from stress of travel. so i dont take it personally.

lol, there have been times when i wanted to strangle a few pax's necks..lol!
most of the time though my flights are routine and friendly.
nothing wrong with wanting to get a few of them and tear them some new a$$holes. lol thats natural to feel that way. but most of you im sure will agree that most trips are routine and hassle free..

depends on my mood ! sometimes if im in a not so happy mood, a pax can push the wrong button with me, and WATCH OUT! lol. if im in a great mood, i have all the patience in the world to deal with people.
