Hi, one question, in the States, if you get a rating, say a B737 type rate, how long is it valid for? 1 year? for life?

Cause here in Mexico is valid for up to 2 years (as long as its in your licence) but every 2 years you have to get a new licence, and if u havent flow the real airplane then the type rate expirates...just wondering how this is done there? If you get the type but dont get a job flying the plane, what happens after say 1 year?

For life. No type rating, 737 or otherwise, ever expires on a US license... Though your CURRENCY in that airplane can expire for purposes of acting as the PIC.
