As it stands right now, it looks like there will be approximately 6-10 pilots to retire (assuming you mean by the Age 60 rule) in the next five years, which is not really a lot. Although there are a few of us (flyfastinmy10 said:what are the retirement numbers for the next couple of years?b

I'm still 200+ numbers out from the bottom number captain right now. There'll be 18 upgrades in OCT and then 10/month for the forseeable future. There are a lot of folks that have bypassed upgrade (I haven't counted exactly - but the break in the seniority list between mostly captains and mostly F/O's is somewhere between 300-350).
I'm expecting at least 18 months more before my number comes up. Then if I took it, I'd be on reserve for 18 months to 2 years (if I take the first upgrade offered to me - because of all the bypasses coming back in on top of me).
I think this is a realistic guess. However, this could all change depending on what happens early next year when the system bid goes out for the E190.
