I just read a company post from the Pilot Information File (PIF), that states DEN(CRJ) and ATL will close and IAD will open. DEN will shrink to sixteen daily departures with only six of those being CRJs. ATL will close on July 31. DEN will begin its decrease in August and take several months. DEN BAE-146 base will remain open. IAD will go from 21 daily departures to 92 by August. A company vancany should be out really soon, if not today. :(

Just read the PIF myself. Very unfortunate for all involved. Just when I starting to move up the list in ORD, now back to the bottom.

To answer the earlier posters question with 80 IAD CRJ FO res slots posted I think its a very good chance that they will go very junior. This is going to be very very ugly :( .

And the plot thickens!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I would have voted NO on pay cuts for what you got out of this deal!!! Hate to say I told ya so but all of the "We don't know what will happen" that was said during the road shows, well now you know!!!!

ONE MORE YEAR. If this doesn't get any better I'm calling out the big guns for help to get over there. I just went from missing upgrade by 2 numbers to expecting a whole **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** load of guys taking the first available upgrade. (thinking "if I have to commute anyway, may as well be a captain")

**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**.

You offering some help there? ...I just may use it.

S.

I gotcha your back my brother!!!

S - I think some of the folks you are talking about will bid DEN 146 FO, cause they really don't want to commute. Some will take the upgrade since they will be forced to commute. I have talked to some DEN CA that say they will bid 146 FO rather than commute. Some DEN CRJ CA will be able to hold DEN 146 CA RES. Others say they will quit. It should be very interesting to say the least. There still may be a chance to get a CA position.

I feel your pain, I am one seniority # below you and was thinking it wouldn't be long now.

Is in it funny how United screws with their feeders? I remember not too long a go. Westair (which was a UX carrier since the 70s) was axed by UAL because Ual wanted to give the feed to Sky west. Also because UAL did not want to work with MESA (bought and ruined Westair)...

Now all of a sudden Ual loves MESA. Ask yourself this? What happened to the 400 Westair pilots and other Westair employess when Ual got rid of them? They got unemployment.......

If I worked for a UX feeder, I would sincerely start having my options open. I do not trust UAL, even if they do get out of Bankrupcy.

Mesa RJ200

Mesa is also moving the majority of its 200 flying to IAD in July so says JO in his propaganda hotline. It should get real cosey out there.;)

Oh great, MESA forkin up another station!! MESA will be gone soon after UAL exit chap 11 and that will be a big party day and I'll buy the beer!!

I think Mesa will never be gone. They have a million lives. They are like cock-roaches. They wil survive a nuclear holocaust.I heard that they are training on 737s at the AWA flight center? Is this true?

AWAC canning 146's?

Hey whats the latest on UAL telling AWAC to can the BAe 146s? I heard a rumor there was only going to be 3 146s by August  I flew on 2 of them going to/from atw via ord, 610AW and 612AW, both nice planes, old, but nice. I'd like to see the 146s stick around for a long time, there such a unique plane and look good in the middle of a pack of CRJ's, which it seems like is all I see at DIA anymore.

UAL have the option to reduce the number of 146's next year by 3 but they won't be going away. UAL's 3rd most profitable route is jet service to/from ASE.

Always talk of replacing them with Avro's (if the cost is right) but we also have 18 100 seaters grandfathered in under our UAL contract so CRJ90's or ERJ190's could even replace them for UAL although ASE isn't possible with them.

I like the 146!!! Except on a ZW flight where the bulkhead was coming off the wall. I could'nt close the bathroom door, but had to pee so bad I decided to Air my Willy anyways.

I'll always wonder where ZW would be if all they had were 146's.
From the pax point of view-it's a real airliner! Alas, the ice age cometh and the dinosaurs will soon be extinct.

To whoever mentioned something about the Westair pilots being treated poorly by United when Westair was dumped, you failed to mention that every Westair pilot was given a guaranteed interview with United at some time down the road. I know several United pilots who got their jobs that way. So I don't think United treated them too terribly in the long run.
