I just thought flightinfo was an "aviation interview board".

Congrats! Where are they doing interviews these days?

DO THE SIM PREP, be yourself and you should be fine.

Good luck!

awac called for an interview.

What an interesting and informative post. Well done and I think I speak for everyone when I say that I can't wait for your next awesome internet posting on the internet/web.

Do the sim prep...what a bunch of crap. If you are at all comfortable with flying instruments, don't waste your money. You could prep for 30 hours and if you screw up it didn't matter. The gouge for that is right on, just memorize it and save yourself the 60 bucks for celebration after you get hired. I flew the CRJ prior to that interview-read..no steam guages (100 hrs in 4 months) and didn't do the prep and I did fine, and I'm not a great instrument pilot.

I know, isn't it?
And you should see me in real life, I am even more entertaining. you can ask jws717.
:p

Steve, I have around 1400 tt but when they scheduled an interview in february, i had around 1200 and 300 turbine 121

I would definetly do the sim prep. It really does not cost that much, and you will be much more confident at the interview. I actually did really well at the prep, and not as good at the actuall interview. I think the fact that they saw me do well the day before was in my favor. Getting the prep also shows the company that you are serious, and really want the job. People definetly get hired w/o the prep, but it can't hurt.
fwiw, I saw the guy that did my prep walking into the corporate offices the following morning while we were being given the interview.

HAHA! I was thinking the same thing... Congratulations on the interview Wiskey is a great place to be! But for God's sake make your posts more interesting.

Something like - "Well Air Cheese called me today for an interview, and the chick on the phone sounded somebitchin' hot! I told her I'd like to bang her and we had phone sex for a while. I'm pretty excited and can't wait to interview! Anyone else get the call?"

See how much better that is?
:pimp:
Good luck on the interview Hoss, what is the date?

FYI

.... priority is given to all of those pilots who were previously scheduled for interviews first, then, filling in slots after we've given them their opportunities. This comprises over 40-some pilots that had been scheduled previously, who will be given first shot at the May interview slots.
Expect a class
starting on June 5th. Classes size will be based on attrition throughout our pilot ranks
AWAC is not a bad place to be, we even got a raise last month, FWIW

Have a good attitude and everything will be ok
Good Luck and Rock on!
:D

Perhaps, but it does show the retired AWAC captain that you want to be there and you are willing to put forth the effort.
FWIW: When I interviewed I almost didn't do the prep. either (thinking hey... "I've got 1500hours flying J-31/32 and B1900D. I don't need no stinking prep") BUT boy am I glad I did!

Good luck to all...

PS. MOVE to your DOMICILE of choice, you will enjoy your time at Air Willy that much more!

I was hangingout inthe ORF crewroom yesterday, and Jeff the ORF domicle mgr said they are planning two classes due to the attrition. One at the end of May and one shortly thereafter. They are short CAs, but as an FO on RSV, you don't fly much. I finished OE a monthago and flewone trip since then. I am finishing a sequence of 5 days RSV and haven't been called once. So, be prepared. RSVs don't seem to fly much around here. However, if you have RJ time, no biggie. They told me those with less than 100 hrs in t he plane must fly first. If I lived in base it wouldn't bother me, but I commute to ORF. And beware!! Summer time is comingup and thecommute to ORF is going to really get to be a nightmarewhen beach season is in full swing.

It seems AWAC went from "the career stop" to "the stepping stone" when the new realignments came out and bases went from the midwest to the east coast. I've flown with a bunch of CA's who told me if things were back the way they were they wouldn't have dreamed of leaving, but now it's everything they can do to line up interviews, update resumes, etc. I think there will be a lot more movement in the next 12 months or so, but as the "old" people leave and "new" people (that are OK with being on the east coast) come the attrition will slow down considerably.

Does anyone know when AWAC will be calling in those for interviews who did not have an interview previously scheduled?

so uh yea.... I really want to work at AWAC.

I figure a couple more months of instruction and I might be money..... So are they going to be hiring in Jan 07???

Kiddingggg
