Where are the AWAC Avro bases? I believe ATW and ORD. Are there any Avros based in IAD. Thanks for any replies - JTrain

I think their 146 bases are ATW and DEN. I know you see some of their 146's out here in DEN serving some of the ski cities like EGE and ASE.

Correct - ATW & DEN only. Just got rid of one of the 146's today, the owner wanted it back and is converting it to a water bomber for the Forestry Dept!! still it was one of the oldest ones we had.

Usually, the most senior Captains fly the BAe-146. As far as FO's, we have been hiring quite a few who are being placed in ATW. Guys in my class (which was in June) are already off reserve in ATW. While on reserve in the BAe-146, they flew all the time! Nice plane!

any idea how long they are siting reserve in IAD on the CRJ? That's what I was told to expect anyhow.

Thanks,

Right now we're hiring 8-10 a month so that works out to about5-6months on reserve in IAD if hiring continues that way and we'restill in business.

If we do survive this mess, it's a good bet that the 146 will be gone by the end of the year along with ATW and DEN. I hope it doesn't happen but that's my guess. They will problably be replaced by the CRJ900. The 146 is getting tired and I've been told that it's getting expensive to operate them. They had a great run though.

Please - ATW is not going to close - if anything they wil make it a CRJ base. That is our world HQ, if they close it then they have to relocate many people to ORD or IAD. If we lose the 146s then yes DEN will be done for sure but I seriously doubt that ATW would close.

I hope your right but I don't think you are. It doesn't make any sense to keep ATW open.

ATW is only a base to keep the crusty ol' f#cks happy. It is not a viable base cost wise and management have mentioned that in the past. 146 maintenance is limited there as most is done by subcontractors and although the RJ goes there they have NO mechs RJ qualified there (as I found out a couple of weeks ago)!!

It maybe WHQ but they can still run the airline from there and not have it as a base, hell 99% of the airline is based elsewhere anyways!!
