I know that AWA has interviewed furloughed people but have they actually hired any? I thought that they wouldn't hire a person who was furloughed from a major airline. Is there anyone out there who is furloughed and has received a job offer from America West??

Dude, if AWA didn't WANT to hire a furloughed pilot, they wouldn't interview any. The HR and Flt Ops depts. have much better things to do then waste the their own time and that of someone else.

Been told that you must be willing to resign your senority number
if you are a furloughed pilot. Hope this helps.

I was fortunate to get hired by AWA on 02/06/03. I'm a furloughed US Airways, and including myself, all 5 of us that interviewed got hired. There were one other furloughed US Airways, American Airlines, and 2 active Mesa pilots.

So yes, they are hiring furloghed pilots! Apply with AWA, and good luck!
