QOL at avjet could be described as good when compared to other Pt. 135 ops. But obviously it doesn't compare as well to pt. 91 or 121 ops.
Pay is as good or better than other operators with good healthcare, loss of license insurance, etc. There is a 401k but only a nominal $500 annual match.
No schedule per say, but many pilots are assigned to aircraft with more than 2 crew so it is possible to work out some days off. Otherwise you will have to rely on your 2 weeks annual leave or FAR days to meet family needs.
Not too many pop up trips, and you are not expected to be available for call outs between 7pm and 7 am weekdays, or on weekends. Also avjet does not send crews out on "One ways" and then has them sit for a week waiting for a return trip.
Up grades between aircraft depends on which aircraft you start on, as most pilots are assigned to a particular owners' aircraft and usually stay with that owner, which can good or bad; bad because it makes transfering to another aircraft difficult but good if the owner decides to trade up to a Global or
BBJ! A lot of new guys are hired into the Westwind or Hawker (Which are company owned) and they are generally upgraded to a Gulfstream or similar in about 2 years.
As I said earlier, there definitely jobs out there with better QOL, but as far as part 135 goes it is about as good as it gets.
