I am a former Regional guy (they called commuters back then) and am co-hosting an aviation themed HD TV show called The Flightline. We premier this Saturday on Discovery's Velocity Channel.

Clearly I hope you watch, but I am more importantly looking for feedback and ideas for the show. We are not a pilot show but I think it is critical that we remain legit in the eyes of this core group. If you have feedback or ideas let me know at [email protected]

To find Velocity on your TV you can go to our website and use a channel finder in the lower right corner. www.flightline.tv

I am posting this in several Flightinfo sub forums to get a cross section of feedback and ideas. Thanks in advance and I hope you enjoy the show.

Thanks for the heads up, I just programed my DVR....seems to me you should post this on the Majors board as well?

Talk about choosing wisely in career progression. Hindsight is always 20/20

Great Lakes to Morris To SWA.....Dang, good job on a stellar career progression!

I'll watch the show, but it seems like you are just going to put a camera in a cockpit and let it roll. Cool for a show or two but I think it will be a little boring after that.

I also read you guys are a magazine type format but who are you going to do stories on? The guy that is super young, flies an airplane before he drives a car, and gets hired on at an airline when he is 19.

OK, scratch everything I just said, I read the 3 stories that you are running on your first show. Sounds good, I'll watch.

Great post Simon.....I hope you tune in and see what we have for materials. We have 2-3 ground based cameras at every shoot to support about 4-5 POVs. We also have designated audio feeds separate in the cockpit for many shoots. The editor would love a single camera shot as his post time is about 30 to 40 hours per feature. I hope you find the extra effort worth it as my guys bust their butts at shoots and our goal is to keep it interesting.

I truly have had a great airline career that had some early bumps. Lakes was a kick in the butt and a lucky break all in one. I got furloughed from my first jet job at AWA and ended up on my feet at Morris Air working for a great lady that knew how to sell tickets. The SWA gig has been great and I was lucky there to get on at a young age and at the leading edge of a growth phase that has sadly stopped for too many years. I fly with great guys at SWA and though it gets kicked around on the forums it really is a great place to work. I really do still like it and look forward to my trips. I hope that never ends. I have been luckiest in that aspect of my career.

Let me know what you think of episode 1 we have the others in the queue and we are looking for feedback.
