Yesterday I launched a new website designed to list attractions and
restaurants near airports throughout the US. This is a user based
website that is completely free, no passwords, no user-names, just free
information. Obviously because the site is so new not many pilots have
posted information yet. We hope you can check out www.brakesoff.com and
add any information to the database.

We hope the site will grow over the next few years to be a valuable
resource for pilots. This site will always remain free and open to the aviation community. No forums, so I'm not out to compete with FI.com

Thanks,

Nice work. I've wanted to do this for years, but have been using the cell phone to call buddies instead. Standby for some awesome uploads, 'cause pilots like to play.
Thanks,

Thanks, I hope the site will takeoff and get enough people using it. It took some time setting the whole site up but I think it was worth it, I was tired of having to pay or register to use the other $100 hamburger type site, and I found calling friends at 11pm wasn't always working out too well.

Why not make it International? There are many pilots looking for info in foreign destinations.

At this point we have not found any good worldwide airport database to use as a starting point. It's a possibility in the future. We hope to start off small and then grow as the site does.

Thanks to all those who have visited the site.

this is a great idea. we as flight crews spend so much freakin down time at these places and typically end up sitting on our butts in our rooms when there could be cool stuff to do that we dont know about within our reach. i will add anything i come across.

dude,

this is an awesome idea. I've been crawling thru the "lounge" sites looking for things to do around airports, crew hotels, that sorta stuff forever. I can't remember the last time i nonreved for fun. I'm airport "poor" This will be great!
