I have a pilot friend that is scheduled to interview with API and was wanting to get some feedback on what can be expected from someone who has gone through that process before. Any type of information would be great!! Thanks!!
I went through it about 20 years ago. If they have not changed their methods, they know who you are before you interview due to all tests you have taken. The interview is just chatty session of about 30-45 minutes, no stress questions, no tricks, and very straightforward. I believe they are just confirming you come across as the person who took the tests. I remember one question Janice asked me. She asked if I liked bacon, which was followed by a short discussion where bacon was best.
I started going through their process and found it to be VERY professional, but a HUGE pain the rear. Unbelievable amount of paperwork and takes forever. I ended up getting a really good job offer on my own before ever completing the process. Nothing will ever beat good old fashion networking and keeping your ear to the ground.
I would recommend completing the process, can't hurt.
Just completed the whole process about 4 months ago. I had to really step it up to get through all the paperwork, in preparation for a job interview. Lots of hoops to jump through, flight experience, work history, resume, phsycological testing, personal interview and the hardest item was the personal autobiography. Did get selected for a chief pilot interview. PM me for all the details if you like.
