Hello,

Had the pleasure of interviewing at UPS recently, they said two to four weeks before finding out. What has been the norm from previous interviewees? Have people been getting a call, if so how long? A letter saying try again, if so how long? A letter putting you into the pool? Thank you.

I know some folks who had a call two days later and some who have waited 8 - 10 weeks before the letter. As far as wait time in the pool - none to 3 years. Good luck

How did you get the call? Did you go to one of the AirInc's? Or were you just one of the lucky "lotto" winners with their "Great" computer selection process? Gotta be the Worst way to select pilots I have ever witnessed!

I think UAL's "un-biased" scantron system of old which only selects the "best qualified candidates" has that top honor.

Dojet...you are right! That one DID take the cake...but UPS is running a tight and I mean TIGHT second!;)

Really? How come you don't mention JetBlue's system? UPS basically incorporated an electronic selection system JetBlue has been using for years...So shouldn't they be the “winner” in your eyes ?

Personally I think it beats a "he/she was in my unit" system; at least this makes a "buddy system" more difficult... I'm not saying I like this selection process but I don’t think its any worst than what you see at the other carriers…

In a way I would like to see some form of a “silver bullet” program (didn’t Alaska used to have that?) but I guess that would make the “buddy system” more prevalent, so I’m not sure what an ideal selection process should look like…Of course, it’s way above my pay grade…;)

It took about a week and a 1/2 for me. I think it all depends on their immediate needs. I've heard anywhere from that same day to three to four weeks.

TMct,

I think UPS uses a computer to score you initially but I can tell you there is quite a human aspect to the selection process. Based on the new hires that I have seen in classes, I applaud the system.

I heard rejection letters come in two weeks. For those who have been through the interview process ... did anyone hear about guys receiving rejection letters later than this? I would assume that not hearing anything is good news????
