Looking for an average per diem rate for domestic US. What does your flight dept do as far as paying for meals, lodging, etc.

The company's looking to revamp the way they presently do things and they've asked for input... any suggestions would be appreciated.

When I flew Part 91 Corporate, we were paid actual 'out of pocket' costs. However, I am flying Part 135 Charter now and we are paid $60 per day (or $2.50 per hour) for both domestic and international. I recently interviewed with a company that is also a Part 135 Charter operator that paid $45 per day domestic and $85 per day international.

All Hotels and car rentals are booked through the company and are paid on the company credit card, we typically stay in Hilton, Holiday Inn, and Marriott properties when able that are in the $80 -180 price range (depending on location and demand).

All actual expenses paid. The Chairman and CEO want us to be well nourished and well rested. Never had an expense report questioned in the 4 years I've been here and I've turned in a few doozies.

Hotels are what they cost. Just because there is a conviention in town or we are in HNL over New Year's does not mean that we are going change the hotel (my comfort) just to make it "cheaper."

Food is what it is. Just try not turn in too many Smith and Wolinsky receipts! (only when we go to Vegas!)

Actual expenses here. We try to stay in Courtyard hotels and we eat pretty descent, but don't go overboard.

We stay in Hilton, Marriott, Holiday Inn or whatever is decent. Like a previous poster said. The owner wants us comfortable, safe and rested. As to meals, discretion is the word. Eat where and when you want, just be reasonable. Company tried the per diem and found it to be too costly in " location over runs". The company also provided a rental car. I think all of us are smart enough not to "abuse" a good employer..

Thanks for the responses.

Company's growing and freaking out at the new expenses. More pilots, more meals, hotels, etc... and bigger credit card bill.

Trying for $2.19 per hour. Used the GSA daily per diem and got an average. But based on what was posted above sounds like we might be selling ourselves short.

A good resourse would be NetJets. They pretty much always stay at the average.

I believe it is now at $52.00/day.

PS more airplanes should mean more profit ... right? ;)

$50 per day domestic, no limit international (whatever is reasonable, whatever that means?). Hotels, usually Hilton, Marriott or Crown Plaza properties.

Per Diem

Ours is $44 per day domestic, $75 international.

Hasn't changed in 4 years.

Part 135 Charter.

Surprised, aren't you?

I know you are going to think I am crazy but I had one of the worst meals I can remember at the Smith and Wolinsky's in Vegas. I could not believe I actually paid for that crap.

Is it just me or does it seem that the per diem, or reimbursement for expenses, never makes back into the 'ol bank account?
Thank god I work for a corporation that issues corporate credit cards!
