Description:
Functions as the pilot-in-command for assigned aircraft. Has direct responsibility for the safety of passengers and crew and the comfortable, timely operation of the aircraft. Supervises the flight crew. Ensures that all flight and ground operations comply with federal aviation regulations. Analyzes weather conditions with the co-pilot and makes decisions regarding possible delays, rerouting or flight cancellations. Arranges alternate transportation for passengers if their flight schedule is affected. Work is performed with minimal direction. Requires airline transport pilot rating and first class medical certificate.
