How do you get an avatar to fit in the 150 pixals by 150 pixals. First I don't even know what that means, but I would like to change my avatar to a photo. I just can't seam to get it to work.

The pixel size refers to how many "dots" across the picture is.

Just open your picture in any photo-editing software (even MS Paint can do it- choose Image, then Attributes), and resize the picture to 150x150. If the picture is not square, make sure the larger dimension is 150 pixels, and the other dimension will be whatever is needed to keep the picture in proportion. "Save As" the picture as "avatar" or whatever you want to call it, and insert it in the Flightinfo user control panel.

Don't forget it needs to be 20k or less also. After you save the file to 150 pixels or less, go to the file (wherever you saved it to) and either view the folder in detail or hover your cursor over the file itself to view its size.

I just changed mine

I saved the picture to a file on my computer. Then went to the photo progam on my machine and change the size to 150 X150. I named the file so I could find it. went back to flightinfo.com under "quick links", select edit AVITAR, customize, then "Browse". Type the file name and the website will find the file on your computer and put it in your AVITAR.

pretty slick.....I need to get out more!

Trick of the trade...

I used to try to resize everything, but then I got lazy. Now I just go to Google Images and do a search for whatever I want to put in my avatar. A bunch of thumbnails come up, and I just save the thumbnail itself to my hard drive. And from there, just upload it to flightinfo as normal. No fuss, no muss. Comes out perfect every time (although sometimes I do have to convert a bmp to a jpeg.)

The picture you see in my avatar is actually a scene from Microsoft flight simulator. I had to actually photograph the computer screen with a digital camera and then upload that picture into a file on my computer. Does anyone know if there is a way to get the image from a video game directly into a file, without actually photographing the monitor????

Hehehehe lol u forgot to say that u where also flying the plane inverted in the sim while taking the picture!

Try this for what u need it might work:
on your keyboard there is a key called print screen in the top right part, press it once while playing the sim, then go to paint and click open new, then when u get the blank screen in paint click edit, and then click paste. U can now save this and use it for a avatar ofcourse u have to rezise it. tell me if it worked !
