Avantair hires into a base. Right now they need crews on the West Coast so getting Denver would be a very good possibility.

As for insurance the high cost for fam insurance is set for FY 2007 but I would hope as Avantair grows they can get better rates and help out more.

One thing that will never happen. Health insurance rates will never become less. They have you paying x amount they never lower it. Especially with rates skyrocketing and guys sayin, "hey if you're single" still accepting the job.

What we have is part of my compensation that a private corporation provides.

One is sustainable (because it comes from a profitable corporation), the other is not (because it would come from a bankrupt welfare state).

Ugh my cousin broke his leg in sweden. He's swedish so no big deal. Well he goes to the hospital and they say "sorry you have to wait till monday." He says but its tuesday why do I have to wait till monday? Monday is broken leg day, tuesday is broken arm day.

I agree 100%. My two ladies (wife & baby) are everything to me! My respect and best wishes go out to Avantair and its employees. This place has a lot of potential and I just hope that at some point it can provide great affordable health insurance for its employees. I want to give a special thanks to all the captains I flew with. You guys were with out a doubt the most professional bunch of pilots I have ever flown with. I learned soooo much during my time at avantair, and made so many friends there. To all of you that have been there long enough and are getting close to your upgrade I just have a few words for you... Good luck, keep having fun, keep being safe and please please please, try and make your FO's as happy as my captains made me! There's nothing better than to fly with your "friend" for a week. It really does make the week enjoyable and flying with someone you get along with help you keep your sanity! Good luck to all of you fellow Avantairers! :bawling:

Latest upgrades have been about 9 - 10 months. The requirment to upgrade is 3000tt (don't remember the rest of the requirements). I'm not sure it's a company policy or an insurance requirement.

Overall, it's a fun place to work and the Piaggio is a great airplane to fly.

I was hired just under 6,000 hours total time. I was the low time guy out of 6 of us. The class average was around 9,000 tt. Everyone in that class will be looking to upgrade in seniority order within the first 12 months.

No shortcuts for us and no shortcuts for you.

Realistic pay; I don't know. I get $2.00 per hour for seven days of a trip that happens twice a month. 24 x 7 x 2 x 2 = 672. Add that to your salary, subtract tax, fica, health ins, and that's the pay. ya get paid every other week. Direct deposit too.
