When you show for duty at the gateway do you operate daily from there or are you gone on a tour like nja ? Thank`s Takeoffroll for your answers !

I have been trying to open Avantair website with no success, Does anyone have their contact info ? How hard are their posted mins ?

From what I hear the ATP is required. On the other hand here I sit working for Avantair with out it yet.

As for the mins, they are hard. Most of the people getting hired have WELL over the listed mins.

The only way to submit and contact Avantair with a resume if via a pilot who works here or [email protected]

Best of Luck,

celloman

I know a couple of guys that work at avantair without the ATP. But they were hired at avantair prior to the new pilot mins.....now you need the ATP, avantair is beeing much more selective with their new hires.

Perhaps they're trying to weed out the goofy forigners with quotes like, "Dark Lord of the Sith".

Just kidding. Couldn't resist.

No actually I have a greencard, so a US passport is not a need to have. You racist turd  (j/k)

I come for your job yankee

There are many FO's here who don't have their ATP, but they can't upgrade until they have their ATP in hand.

The best answer is, maybe. Some people get a response very quickly, and some never get a response at all. You never know what's going to happen.

At the bottom of every ad that I have seen online and even on their recruiting hotline phone message they address this question with the following statement:

** Avantair would like to thank you in advance for your interest in a position with us. Due to the volume of resumes we typically receive, Avantair will only respond to individuals whose candidacy we wish to pursue.

ouch!

When you upgrade at Avantair, do you go back to year one captain's pay, or do you get to keep your longevity? (it may be a stuip question, but where I work now, you go back to year one)

Also, how much are the medical/dental/vision insurance deductions each month?

Thanks

You keep your longevity, ie if you upgrade after you are there 1yr, you go to yr2 capt pay which is currently $53K. you also get a $5k upgrade bonus I believe.

I read somewhere (aviationinterviews maybe) that there is a 1yr, non-prorated 18,000 training contract. True? Not that I would plan on leaving if upgrades were running one year anyway. Also heard people were regularly asked to work 1 or 2 extra days to "help out". If this is true are you paid more for working into your days off? I guess the better question would be is there a contract, and if not is there any plan to get one?

The training contract is true. From what I've heard, they've only ever held one person to it though that left inside that year. Also, your upgrade is based on how well they like you, so you may upgrade at the year mark, or you may not.

If you work more than the 7 1/2 days, you do get paid extra. I think the FO rate is $150/day, or something close to that.

There is no contract, and probably won't be one anytime soon. There was a push for a union over last Christmas, but the two guys that were trying to start it both got fired. There are rumors that there may be another try, but as long as the company keeps making promises to make changes, it probably won't go anywhere.

Anybody remember that Pilot Advisory Board from the last union push? Heard anything from it or seen any changes from it?

If you are truly interested in working at Avantair, just remember that not everything you read on this board is true. But, most of it is.

actually FO rate is approximately $230 a day, plus perdiem. I'm looking into doing some good amount of overtime myself
