Ceo

Just remember, he used words like, "we believe", "we plan", "We forecast". And then there is always the "this statement includes certain forward looking data..........". They can say just about anything they like as long as they use words like this.

Under no circumstances should anything the CEO at Avantair be believed. He is a lying, unscrupulous, pathetic person who will say anything at the moment that he thinks is appropriate at that time.

Talk of growth, etc. is fine. But, they're desperate for pilots, people are quitting, and last but not least, they're bleeding money every day. The 35 mil or so that was raised by going public is gone- where's the next influx of cash going to come from? Anyone who is considering working there- BEWARE. On the other hand, if you're low time and need turbine time, go, put your year in and leave. But, keep your mouth shut. After all, anyone can put up with those conditions for a year if it furthurs your career.

Are you still flying here? No flame intended.

Many will for sure disagree with what you said, but I must agree with many things you said.
1- They are very dersperate for Pilots (continuous overtime is being offered)
2- They are still bleeding money (one of the reasons why my friends left, and the few left want to leave)
3- If you are a low timer, and are desperate for a paycheck then go, get your time and move on.
4- Do keep your mouth shut, and try not to blow a tire or you will get fired. Remember no Anti-skid.

You need to make sure you can take the job, avantair is for sure a stepping stone, you will find this out very fast. Be sure that if you dont feel a bit comfortable with signing a contract then move on and dont work there. 4 of my friends left under the year and they all keep getting BS letter about having to pay back 18K. Two of my friends that work there were hired as Captains back in the day and both are just waiting for their phone call to leave. A year does go by fast, but once you're miserable that year can feel like an eternity.
Good luck guys, and dont be chumps.

Hey guys,
Speaking of Avanti as a stepping stone.........are they still not letting FO's touch the controls for quite sometime (not sure how long)??? I thing that's gay!!
WTF! they are not hiring 250 hr wonders!!!!....... are they?

The quarterly report for the period ending 31 Dec 2007 must be submitted to the SEC by Feb 15. It will be public.

Rumor is that it's not getting financially better, and the major investors want results to their liking by 30 Jun 2008.

I'm still trying to figure out as to how in the hell can their training contract be 22K? it costs around 22K to get a challenger type... and the Piaggio is a Single pilot, under 12500lbs airplane. How does that work exactly. Sounds like they're trying to make money from just about everywhere.

22k is what FlightSafety charges per year for each pilot under the full-service agreement. They own the only Piaggio sim in the world and are charging us as much as they can for it. FSI is owned by Berkshire Hathaway, who also owns NetJets so they have a direct interest in keeping our costs as high as possible.

I've heard from people in KPIE that we're talking to SimCom, Simuflite, and CAE about getting a Piaggio sim.

Well it totally seems like they're going to lose these investors like they lost the previous one.

How's that going to happen when they haven't made a dime in 4 or 5 years?

Daaaaaamn!!! You SOB! LOL. Where have you been?
Oh yeah, and you're right about that comment.

Ha! So you finally saw the light about that place? As I recall, you used to defend their bulls**t rather tirelessly. 'S ok though. It does take awhile sometimes to figure out that people are lying bastards. Cheers.

What a shame it was that Avantair lost that 'investor'.

They lost "that investor" because he was lied to about the financials. He figured it out pretty fast, and then rode around on company airplanes as long as he could and it took them months to figure out that he wasn't planning on forking over any money. HE still has his millions- either in the bank or at work in a legitimate business.

I was very aware of many things there. But I defended the pilots I flew with and even some things you were splitting hairs on. But I never defended the fact that they were bleeding money away, and that they didn't treat us like other fractionals might treat their pilots, like crew meals for example, and not getting MX done.
