Click the link to hear the interview with Avantair CEO Steve Santo. Talks about a lot of growth and the eventual addition of the Phenom 100 VLJ into the fleet in latter 2009 or early 2010.

Phenom 100 jets are going to be very nice. Unlike the Eclipse 500. The interesting thing is going to be once they get the airplanes most likely people will be signing training contracts to get typed in damnn things. Better of at NetJets folks.

The only problem is NJ has a stack of resumes 4 feet high, where Avant Air, if you meet the mins, you can prety much just walk right in.

Of all the frax, NJ is the best deal, but the longest wait.

That's true. The only problem with what ya said, is that if you go to Avant and then get the call from Netjets and leave avantair... well, then they're gonna start harassing ya to pay them back 18K plus interest for their training expenses. Hell you might as well show up to the interview and tell them that you have $18,000 in the bank and that you would like to pay for your own training.

By the way, are they still having guys sign a $18,000 dollar contract?

Sounds like the same speach I heard from the CS CEO three years ago. Talk is cheap.

There's a big difference. As the CEO of a public company, he can be sued by investors for providing misleading information. There is a difference in this case - CS is not held to the same standards. You can't spin as easily.

I thought his points the impact of GAAP accounting (on reporting profitability) were interesting. The Phenom 100 sounds like an interesting aircraft - disappointed that it won't enter service with Avantair until maybe early 2010...

Just remember, he used words like, "we believe", "we plan", "We forecast". And then there is always the "this statement includes certain forward looking data..........". They can say just about anything they like as long as they use words like this.

22K prorated training agreement now. I'm 3 months into mine. I didn't want to sign it, but I am not going anywhere anytime soon.

This COULD be a great place to stay whereas NJA IS already a great place to have a career. I just like the idea of being in the top 200 vs. the bottom of a 4000+ pilot list (by the time they get to my resume they will have that many pilots). We shall see.

I'm still trying to figure out as to how in the hell can their training contract be 22K? it costs around 22K to get a challenger type... and the Piaggio is a Single pilot, under 12500lbs airplane. How does that work exactly. Sounds like they're trying to make money from just about everywhere.
