Just wanted to know what the minimums were.

I was offered the job with about 2900tt, 2100pic, 700 Lear25 sic, 1000 multi and an ATP.

She said my time was a little low, but I was competitive because I had 135 experience and Lear experience. I seem to remember them posting their minimums on their site, but I just looked and cant seem to find them.

Hope that helps, Im sure some of the other guys on the line can answer your question better.

What kind of headsets are you guys wearing in the Piaggio?? Are you able to wear the smaller types or is it loud enough to require a full cup over the ear??

Headsets are provided in the airplane. They are telex type that fit over your ear but not with a cup. I've alway used telex 5x5 pro and they'd work fine but since they give me a set I have no need for my own. The cabin is VERY quite. The passengers could here you talking in cruise if your not careful.

Noodles: Which part of my statement do you find not entirely true? They don't hire street captains or you have to wait in line for a couple of months?

I agree I might have exagerated the "couple of months" portion...but not by much if what I hear is true. I would bet that a new hire today would be a Captain by April if they were qualified.

From the ad on Climb to 350:

Minimums requirements:
• 2500 Total Time
• 1000 Multi-engine
• 250 Instruments
• 100 recent hi speed multi engine turbine or type rating
• 250 Hours in the past 12 months
• Airline Transport Pilot
• First Class Medical
• US Passport and copy of birth certificate
• FCC Restricted Radio/Telephone Permit

Competitive Qualifications for the First Officer positions available are:
• 5000 Total Time
• 1500 Multi Engine
• 500 hours in hi speed turbine aircraft requiring a type rating to operate

The ad says an ATP is required but I think an ATP written will do, but you will need to take your ATP ride before you upgrade.

I have heard that street captains are still hired, but only under "special circumstances".

This would be close. As far as benifits, around $400 per month for family, much less for single. I hear this is an aera they are working to improve. 401K with 3% match (i think). 7/7 sched.

Captain First Officer
Year 1 $47,000.00 $30,000.00
Year 2 $53,000.00 $32,000.00
Year 3 $64,000.00 $34,000.00
Year 4 $66,000.00 $36,000.00
Year 5 $72,000.00 $38,000.00
Year 6 $81,000.00 + COLA
Year 7 $91,000.00 + COLA
Year 8 $93,000.00 + COLA
Year 9 $95,000.00 + COLA
Year 10 $98,000.00 + COLA
Year 11 $101,000.00
Year 12 $103,000.00

Standards Captain + $8,000.00
Training Captain + $5,000.00
Check Airmen + $4,000.00

They have to be off of their rocker if they think 5000 hours is competitive with those payscales! NJA first year fo pay is slightly less than their first year captains pay.

No shortage of 5000+ hour applicants/new hires here.

Dilligaff

tk855,

Well, I hate to tell you this but I have 2800 tt and was the lowest time guy in my class by about 3000 hrs. Only person in my class with out my ATP. None of the guys have any "skeletons" in the closet. I think the kicker was the 1 yr upgrade for most of us. EVERY one had prior 121 or 135 time and had chosen to leave there old job due to furloug, retirement, or better QOL.

Thanks,
celloman
