Looking for good verbiage/ideas of an autopilot SOP. Not to engage below a certain altitude specifically in a bank angle. Anyone have a good one they would like to share? Thanks in advance.

We talked about this a fair amount and decided not to re-invent the wheel, which many do...and simply follow the AP limitations contained in the AFM.

IMO it is good to have a procedure in place for who manipulates the flight control panel at what times, ie. PNF pushes buttons/turns knobs when PF is hand-flying, and PF runs the FCP when the autoflight system is engaged.

In addition to this, we've added that everything is voice-activated below 10k' regardless of the AP being on or off...this keeps the PF's eyes outside in the more congested airspace.

Are SOP states, on departure AP not engaged before 1000 ft and for landing disengage when leaving 200 ft. We are highly encouraged to use autopilot as soon as feasible in high traffic areas with departures such as in TEB or tight RNAV departures in ATL or DFW.
