I'm wondering how many AWA poolies showed up to the class today............

Also, how many people were supposed to be there, how many actually showed up, and how many will be there at the end of the week???????

Have all of the furloughees gotten their chit or get off of the pot letter yet?

Any word on newhires off of the street?

Nachos Garcias

Wow. Hundreds of letters and they got 39.

As I was bowling with my kids today on the last day of summer (before school that is) it suddenly occurred to me that I coulda been sitting in indoc instead, getting ready to endure 20 years of commuting. Felt pretty good that 1) I hadn't thought about it yet today and 2) when I did it seemed like I made the right decision and 3) I hadn't thought about it again 'til now.

I was looking at pre-owned motorhomes today and thinking about how much fun it would be camping with my son instead of commuting to Philly to sit in a crashpad. :)

I still think you made the right decision. Who wants to commute to crummy PHL anyway... What a headache that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give it some time........

.......and you'll be crashpadding in that motorthome in the employee parking lot at Philly!!!:):):)

You're Captain material, you cheap bastard!

Or... driving the motor home to Philly, parking in the employee lot and using that as your crash pad. Oh the ambiance... sitting in the parking lot, drinking a beverage and watching the airplanes come and go as you waive to the employees parking their cars.

Maybe if one bought 2 parking passes, they could park a double wide trailer in the lot. :D

I believe the poolies are still going 190....as there are still furloughed individuals yet to come back. Though that will be settled Sept 17th. I believe. That's the final take it or leave it class or date. I think the letters have gone to the top of the list.... What's interesting is the Aug 27th class was still part of the last bid, and they had 79 vacancies, and 39/40 showed up. Believe 4 or so are leaving today or later in the week. So there's still 30 positions open from last bid, plus about 200 from the the bid that just closed.....

Someone has difficulty paying attention...

No, not really...

I read above the final "take it or leave it" class for furloughed pilots is Sept. 17th. My question is when will interviews for non-AWA poolies start and when might they expect to be put into class? I haven't seen that information anywhere in this thread, nor is "Pilot" available on the careers section of the US Airways Website.

I'm not particularly interested in employment there given Airways' track record the last two decades, and if I were at my young age it'd be the gamble of the century with my career. That said, I'm sure many folks are and would like to know that information...including many WO pilots.

Thanks...
