I'm getting ready to move on from this company and on to greener pastures.

I was always told to give 2 weeks notice before moving on. However, I have heard horror stories of others before me getting burned doing the right thing. I've heard that folks were taken out of CASS and unable to commute their last trips, got screwed out of PDO's, never getting their last paycheck, and out and out being instantly "terminated" and not being allowed to fly their last trips.

I'm looking to compile a list of horror stories and tips how I can avoid them as I attemp a graceful exit from the Chautuaqua machine. I want to fly my last 2 trips as they are worth quite some coin.

PM too if you don't want
to post public.

I didn't even give 2 weeks notice. Mine ended up being about a week and a half notice. Didn't have any problems whatsoever with receiving all my PDO's, last paycheck, etc.

I'd recommend turning in your ID, manuals, parking pass if you want to make sure you receive all your parting gifts from the company.

I never had any issues regarding the last paycheck or cashing out PDO's; however be sure they vest your 401k match if you have three years of service. Also they pulled my flght benefits on my final day. If you need to commute the day after your trip you might get hosed.

I still have my travel bennies and have been gone for about a month now. Been enjoying traveling on my time off.

No issues here. Got paid in full very fast, which was a shocker. Bart was cool about it. Called him 3 weeks out and picked his brain. Told him if he was going to cut me loose on the spot I wouldn't give him two weeks. He laughed and asked me when.
Heard the same thing of him wanting guys to turn their stuff in right away. I wanted to work until 2 days prior to my class date to hod off 1st year poverty. He was cool and said I could work until whenever I wanted.
He did agree that if you quit prior to vacation or couple weeks off, he would tell you to turn your stuff in.

I gave two weeks but got a call the next day from Bart not to show up. Of course I was starting IOE that day so he said it did not make to much sense to do that and only fly for the company for maybe 1 more week. They did dock me those last two weeks of pay though...
But I left happy and enjoyed my next two weeks off.
All pdo's were paid.

PDO's are deferred compensation. It is illegal for them to not pay them to you. Bart's words... not mine.

Not to mention that our contract clearly states that you will be paid for them when leaving the company.

Jeez...well, I worked for PDT, gave two weeks notice, turned in my manuals, ID, parking pass, the whole nine yards. Worked over a 95 hr pay credit the month before I quit and just received a $300 paycheck for my services yesterday. Not that it really matters now, but WTF?! I think I'm still entitled to the whopping $1200 that I was supposed to get. Instead I got a facial cocksmack.

No issues from CHQ here... They gave you a job, give them your 2 weeks. Obviously they havnt screwed anybody over so far.

No problem here either. Gave about a week in a half. I think they are getting good in having people moving on to greener pastures.

anybody leave while they were still within the 2 years of the training contract we signed in intial and if so did the company come after you for it?

Thanks for the input. The good stories are outweighing the bad ones that ive heard.

I put in notice and will be on my way soon!
