I could care less what you do to your check list. But if your POI thinks it's important to carry it, he probably will have some heart burn if you alter it.

As far as the hat goes. If they want you to wear it, why not just wear it. How about the tie? I hate it. How about the stripes on your shoulders? Before you know it, we could all dress like a SWA FA in the summer.

Wearing a hat says that you're thankful for your job and that you don't think that you're better than others. Its my way of telling the guy next to me that I see us as equals and I'm here to work with you.

And to the pax it says who I am, someone who tries to be professional. I put heavy emphasis on tries...

If you work there, you follow their policy. Shocker....same for the Airlines! We all have to wear it, and you are no better.

Seems to me that, for a bunch of guys that love to try to follow tradition and talk professionalism, the hat seems like such a trivial thing to complain about. Who cares if you look like the wheelchair pusher...some of those guys have epaulets...wanna get rid of those, too?

Yes, pax do not respect pilots because we don't wear hats and some of us don't shine our shoes. That's the reason.

Not wearing the hat is also why oil is $110.00 a barrel. Not wearing the hat is why the air cart was inop last week. Not wearing the hat was the reason there was a groundstop in ATL on Friday.

I don't mind the hat. I wear it because it completes the uniform. However, I will probably stop wearing it when it warms up and get to hot to wear it.
