Since your contract is up for renewal today I just want to urge each and everyone you you to FLY SAFE!!

I believe management will reward you with a new contract ASAP by flying very safely.

Remember to:

1) Be on the lookout for ANYTHING out of place before you push back no matter how insignificant. If anything is not working EXACTLY as it should that is reason to squawk it NOW not later.

2) Likewise, peruse through the logs at any previous squawks with a fine tooth & comb and make double sure they work as they should. This might take extra time but SAFETY is paramount.

3) Except for the necessary briefings, using the in flight entertainment systems only increases the risk of a dangerous fire. Minimize that risk by shutting off the IFES after the pax brf is complete. Remember swissair 111?

4) Abide strictly by the FAA guidelines to taxi "no faster than a brisk walk" No need to rush. You are much safer by taking your time and doing it right than rushing it and risking an accident.

I'm sure I'll think of more, but I believe that IF AA pilots go above and beyond and fly even safer then management will reward you with a much improved contract.

Please forward this to at least 5 AA pilots to spread the word! In no time, AA will be the safest airline ever!!

Good luck guys and FLY SAFELY

I don't know about the other bases, but in ORD, they've been practicing #4 on the list for at least 3 years now. Maybe more.

You may consider offering to let any corporate aircraft depart ahead of you as a courtesy. Since your management is so anxious to push user fee's on GA, they may appreciate the irony in this.
