Seeing as how USAir and America West needed money from the ATSB after 9-11 to survive and Delta did not, does anyone see a conflict of interest with the govt. and the proposed merger? The govt. has a vested interest in USAir through the loans it granted them. Food for thought!

The ATSB loans turned out to be a good thing for the gov't; they got quite a good return thanks to AWA and the acquisition, I mean, the merger of AWA and USAir.

I don't think that will be the issue in the courts, it'll be about monopoly and anti-trusts. I'll bet the creditors are salivating at recovering money that Delta decided not to pay them because of the BK.

The loans were sold then...I think I remember that somewhere amongst the murky waters of BK during exit.
