Requirements: Captain Cessna 402-C must have US Multi-engine ATP along with a First Class Medical, 200hrs multi-engine preferred and the ability to work in the US.

Requirements: ATR First Officer must have Commercial Certificate, Instrument Rating, 1000hrs TT with 200hrs PIC Multi-engine. 2nd Class Medical.

I think if a charter company or airline issues a baseball cap as part of their uniform, they shouldn't require you to wear it...it should be optional.

Stinking ball caps...I hated seeing them on regular patrol cops back when they started wearing them. Nothing says "line guy" or "service station attendant", quite like a ball cap does.

Cape Air does not require any portion of the uniform other than the standard navy pants/white shirt/tie/epaulets/wings/black shoes. Pilots on "Nantucket Airlines" (HYA-ACK-HYA) duty can ditch the white shirt and wear a blue oxford shirt with red tie. The company provides your choice of a variety of other "Cape Air" logo stuff to wear - various windbreakers/jackets/sweaters/pins/hats/visors and yes ball caps.

ATR upgrade time is impossible to predict - anyone at any airline who tells you what the upgrade time will be is of course just guessing (or lying, depending upon your point of view). But a good guess would be fairly quickly (within two years) based upon planned future expansion of the 121 side and typical attrition.

FYI the ATR's are currently only in GUAM. And yes the flying is fun (speaking from the 402 side), provided that like me your idea of fun is single-pilot IFR down to a generous 1800 RVR with a raging crosswind.
