ATR-42 pay

Cape Air is starting ATR service, looking for pay rates for other ATR carriers. If you fly for Eagle or ASA or other ATR operators please post your pay scales for 3-6 years captains. Thanks, looking for what's fair.

I am also interested in this information. I have around 1700 hours and would like to apply for a first officer position in the ATR. Is this enough time to be competitive. Is cape air going to hire for these positions. I here they are going to use these aircraft in Guam is this true.

When are the planes going to be ready? Have they set up a time line for bringing the others from ROS up to YUL yet? and lastly....Has 838 been finished in YUL yet and is it going right to guam or staing in Hyanis for a bit?

Welcome to third world status boys and girls! I don't have any clue what an ATR pilot makes, but I am curious if they are gonna pay you US equivalent (sp?) rates, or if your gonna recieve Guam equivalent rates? Secondly, the latest rumor in the islands is that ya'll gonna be bringin' 7-8 planes eventually, taking over Air Mike's service to Yap, Pohnpei, and Palau. Any truth in this? Regardless, I am interested to see what your pilot retention rate is going to be. Guam is a US territory, not the US, and did I mention you are 9000 miles from home (ie. 18 hr. plane flight). Cheers!

I don't think you are going to have to worry much about the reliability and dedication of cape air crews... They are some of the best in the biz...


Many have been preparing mentally (and preparing their families) for over a year now... I would also venture to say that though I don't know exactly what the pay over there will be, the fact that they pay the 402 drivers WAY more then any regional, I'd venture to guess the pay will be appropriate to say the least... Not a lowballer type of operation..

At Coex the rates for the ATR were as follows

Fo pay scales only go to 6 years. This is under contract 97 which ran out in oct 02. 10/1/01 was the last increase for this contract.
ATR 72 captains got a 5/hr override on above rates.

I thought I'd chime in on the Guam thing. It's not that bad a place to live. kind of like Hawaii, except a little bit smaller. OK alot smaller I have spent time in both places when I was in the military and if you enjoy warm weather, beaches, sailing, sport fishing, etc...Not too mention if you are there with the airlines the travel benies to Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, etc...Not to mention some fine flying weather it seems like those folks going will be luckier than the lot of us freezing and dealing with Sigmets and Airmets. About the only thing you have to worry about in Guam are snakes and typhoons! Good luck!

Don't get me wrong, I am not bashin' Guam. I personally love it out here, but I know a ton of folks hate it and can't wait to leave. It's kinda like Hawaii, except way more ghetto. Traveling to all the asian countries is easy and tons of fun, but just to give you an idea, I have been here two years and have not been back to the states. Great place to live for single folks, but I think it would be very trying for a family.

Question, I have heard you guys are making in the range of 40' a year to fly the 402? This means that even at industry average pay for the ATR, your FO's are gonna take a huge pay cut. And these positions are going very senior?

if you like 4 days off a month...

guys that make in the 40's at Cape Air do so by working their A$$E$ off in 100deg heat with no A/C into and out of 3500 ft runways. Dont get me wrong...great job, fun plane to fly. But the pay isn't all you guys are cracking it up to be. I know a 3rd year Capt that chose quality of life over the money and didn't crack $30K last year.
