Hi folks. Some of y'all may remember me from the pay for training threads I started. Well here is something I think should interest everyone. Please look over the details of this new program and give some input. I don't know if this is PFT or what! And they have this rebate or guarentee be an ATP flight instructor or something. Thought some of you might be interested picking this one apart.
I'm currently working on the pre-req.s for ATP's 14 day CFI program. I decided that instructing is the way to go. I don't know what to think about this new program.

Just remember a guarenteed interview is just that... Its not a job. And with the vast number of Indy-Air and Possible Chicago Express Furloghee's a pilot with 500-100 my have an up-hill battle on that one.

I am not one to go jumping up and down about PFT-- But dont buy ATP claims of a guarenteed job--- It simply doesnt exist.

Don't pay for jet time that does you no good-- plenty of people get hired with out any turbine time and have no problem in training.

i had looked at that program too... be careful, the $4995 can easily turn into $8000 before you know it... (e.g. extra grand if you don't have 15 multi PIC + 300-400 per checkride - read extra grand + travel expenses for 14 days - read extra grand). I don't doubt they'll get you all your ratings quickly, but I decided that program was too pricey for me.

I think this is a great deal.... for ATP that is. You get 200 hours of the 320 hours is in a Diamond Star. If you don't get hired by a regional, they will give you $10,000 dollars back and give you a CFI/MEI job with ATP. If I read this correctly, the cost is $32,500 and that is in addition to the cost of ATP's other program. The total investment is $77,000 and you will get a rebate of $10,000 if you don't get the job.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am not going to spend $67,000 dollars just to end up working for ATP as an instructor. I have a friend who has a friend working for Expressjet and he was told that Expressjet has a freeze on hiring right now. I guess Expressjet has saved some pilot spots for low-time ATP grads. If I ran an airline that is exactly what I would do. Put a freeze on hiring pilots with 2000 hours total and 100 multi to hire ATP grads with 500 hours. Makes great business sense to me.

thats bs there is no way they are going to put a freeze on hiring so they can wait for a bunch of low time guys
