Hello,

I am a FAA MEII here in the States and am looking to eventually go over to Europe and work for a carrier. I know one of the requirements is to get an ATPL to work for any airline which is under JAA rule. What I don't know is the proccess to get an ATPL. Any info on how to convert my licenses, schools to go to , personal experiences, places to go on the web to find out more information on this topic, anything relaqted to his would be greatly appreciated. Thx, ATCCFI

What you need to do is contact the aviation authority in the country you wish to do the licence conversion. I had two friends of mine one an Englishman who went through the CAA and my other buddy who went throught the Irish CAA.

What will be involved is a lot of red tape so expect to jump through a lot of hoops. The JAA is notorious for bureaucracy and making something that is relatively hard even more so-unnecessarily so!
