ATP Written

Right now I am studying the ATP written material and I have a few questions. Basically I had heard that some prep courses omit some of the chapters to reduce the question bank. I am assuming that this would include the 135 regs, if you were to take the 121 atp test etc... Right now I am studying for interview prep (for 121 jobs) and for general knowledge, but don't plan on taking the test until down the road a bit. Are there any chapters I can disregard (135 regs? dispatcher questions?) I don't mind the studying, it would just a bit easier to divide and conquer if I knew exsctly what I should be focusing on. This may have been discussed before , but I am just looking for some quick guidance. everyone was very helpful on the takeoff alternate thread by the way. Thanks

msk, I do not know which book you are looking at but, My somewhat dated Gleam book (on page 5) tells you what to study for the 121 or 135 tests. Look in your book and see if there is a section that would tell you what to study. Basically if you take the 135 exam it is the 135 regs and the 1900 performance. If you take the 121 test it is the 121 regs and the 727 performance.
My recomendation: If you plan in the short term to fly 135 then take that test. It will help you learn the regs and performance to (king Air) Beech 1900 aircraft. If you plan to go to 121 and the 727, then take that test.

The ASA study guide of atp questions tells you exactly what questions might be asked... and provides all the answers too. You only have to do one or the other; 121 or 135. You can skip the helo and dispatcher q's and other weird stuff.

It makes no difference which ATP written you take. Take the one that's easier for you.
