Coming up on my ATP mins, thinking about going ahead and getting it done at ALLATPs.....First question what do you guys think of AllATPs? Where should I start with reading material like for the oral? I know the written has a bunch of stuff but I'd like to actually comprehend what I need to talk about in the oral....And the last question, is it possible that having my ATP will hender me if I try to go for a freight dog job with a ATP? (maybe silly question)

my suggestion is read the gleim, take the test. fly a twin a few times. nail all the local instrument approaches. take the check ride. BANG! ATP cert. all TOO easy.

How can anyone be hindered from getting any job by having an ATP?

Make sure that your instrument skills are honed as fine as possible. I always told people the ATP is really just a souped-up instrument rating. Mine was all under the hood except for takeoffs and landings. My type was the same. Know your airplane inside and out for the oral. Your best study guide, as you've been preaching to your students, I'm sure, is always the PTS for the certificate that you are seeking. You will be responsible for everything under each Area of Operation.

It makes no difference which written you take for the ATP. I attended a Bill Phelps ground school in Phoenix for my ATP written. It was the 121 written, but I did fine because I had great instructor, and I even learned something about turbine equipment. Very time-efficient solution for me.

Ditto on "know your airplane." Systems, speeds, etc.
I went to AllATP's, thought they did a good job. The hardest part for me was trying to be comfortable in a PA-44, which I only had 2 or 3 hours in. If I'd been able to do the ride in the plane I fly for work, it would have been no sweat. Looks like you've already got some Seminole time, so it should be fairly straight-forward.
