This is just pathetic! These reps man up to protect their group and now this???
Here is the auto-reply:
Members of LEC71,
You probably don’t know our names unless we’ve flown together because
we are not the kind of guys who get involved in union politics.
However, we are mad as hell at the direction our MEC is taking, and we
want to do something about it before it’s too late, and we need your
help.
Help us by voting to recall and replace:
• AC, who misled all of us about what was said during the
July meeting with Gary Kelly. His “no” vote and that of the others
effectively muzzled the merger committee, which had planned road-shows
to explain the seniority deal to the pilots, and would have allowed
the pilots to choose their destiny instead of having AC choose it
for them. He has also failed to hold regularly scheduled LEC meetings,
as he is required to do by the ALPA bylaws.
• CJ, who spoke at the last MEC meeting about her
admirable work helping FOs who were furloughed in 2008, and then
denied the same FOs the chance to vote in 2011 on a measure that would
have given them better furlough protection than they have now.
• TH, who joined the “no” voters in ignoring the advice of
counsel, the merger committee and his own constituents who wanted a
say in their future.
It’s time to take back our union and protect our careers from the
angry mob that runs the forum, and denies the will of the majority.
In the coming days, we hope to collect the names and email addresses
of pilots like you who support our cause. Our goal is to get enough
pilots to the next LEC meeting to force a recall vote. In the coming
days, we will email blank proxy forms to those who will not be able to
attend the meeting (which has not yet been scheduled) so that other
like-minded pilots can cast their votes for them. Help us by
forwarding this email to your friends, and ask them to sign-up with us
at [email protected] with Name/Employee No./Seat Position.
It is time for the “silent majority” to speak up.
Sincerely,
