The "plan" is to park three classics by Aug '07, when they come up on heavy checks. There's been quit a few retirements in the last twelve months, and a few just leaving for greener pastures, so not sure how many pilots will be affected. PFE's will be taking the brunt of the furloughs, percentage wise.

This is not new nor did it come out of the blue. The company has made it clear that we would be shrinking before the -8's arrive in 2010.

could someone post a link to globalnet reference or is this just line speculation like everything else. (the reason i ask is that i dont want to get my hopes up of a furlough and then be forced to continue working) I need a break.

For what its worth, there is no link. It came from the MIA crew meeting on Friday. ALPA site has a post from someone that was there.

This is for employment with GSS, not Atlas Air. This company seems to have very high turnover, read for yourself over on PPrune on the Freight Dogs forum!
