I have several friends at Atlas. This is some sad news but not entirely unexpected I suppose.

I also read on pprune that Evergreen will be furloughing as well.

Why do those bastards always wait for X-mas to announce this crap?

I hope 2004 presents much better fortune.
Peace.

GCD,

You still read the board? What's the scoop?

It's not set in stone, yet. I can't see how we are going to meet our new contracts in 2004 with parked airplanes.

Also, it looks like the pre-packaged Capter 11 is pushed off to February 2004.

Thanks for the concern. I could use some time off. My NG unit has a lot of flying scheduled for the C-23, I am remodeling my house, and I have tried to write a book for three years. Between Atlas and the Army, I've only been home 56 days this year.

Wish you and all yours the best over there. Take care.

How does this affect Polar?

Cargo always drops right after Christmas!

Sorry to hear about the furloughs!

One of my friends is an Evergreen DC-9 FO based here in SEA, and he got his furlough notice last week effective Jan 2. He said he was the only DC-9 pilot to be furloughed, but there were around 20 747 pilots furloughed as well.

Hopefully, it will be short lived for everyone involved, and you will all be back soon.
