okay, which of you ba$tards keeps stealing the t.v. remote control out of the pilot's lounge? the csr's at the front desk say that someone keeps stealing it because it's a universal remote.

please bring it back; i can't take it anymore, having to get up and play with the satellite controller to change the channel, find a program i like, then get up again because the volume is too loud or too quiet.

I thought that satellite setup was a pain. Scrolling through endless channel spots they don't subscribe to, and no clue about which channels have something worthwhile.

I'd usually just play pool until the pax arrive.

WTF is the deal with that when FBO's you just paid for 800 gallons of fuel has most of the channels blocked off. How about they stop being so cheap and get all the channels.

I'm not singling out atlantic. It's all fbo's. The pilots lounge is kind of an afterthought.

Don't get me started about the crew car.

Tasty Steering Wheels....

Also don't forget to wash your hands after bringing back the crew car......

Do you really want to use the remote at an FBO where the line guys have access to Playboy channel on a slow night shift? Not me.

Hey, just curious what satellite system they were using at Atlantic. If it's DirectTv, then I might have an extra remote that I could donate to the cause. On another somewhat related note, do many of the decent FBO's have wireless internet access?? I just interviewed for a corporate job the other day, and if hired I'll have to upgrade the laptop for a machine more useful for traveling, and I'm going to want a wireless card if there is a use for it out on the road. Thanks,
TJ

I'd say get the wireless card. It's reasonably cheap, and it's amazing how many "hot spots" are around - at least in Austin.

Trajen at AUS has wireless internet access.

My guess is that the remote has nothing to do with it. The thief is obviously a pilot. As a pilot he no doubt is looking at the remote a a free source of 2-AA batteries. These undoubtly are the type that he/she uses in their pager.

Find the pilot with the old school pager and you have found the thief. You may want to ask if anyone has taken the crew car to Costco for the free lunch.

:D

Yes, it's direct TV at Atlantic, if I remember correctly.

Cripe, it's been almost a year. Sheesh.

It's definitely worth getting the wireless card since more and more FBOs and hotels are making wireless access available including Atlantic. Signature is supposed to have it at all of their locations by the end of the year. I use mine all the time.
