I think that $5.00/gal is isolated profiteering. I just paid $3.05/gal--still rediculous, but better then $5.

The news today showed a station that was charging $6.49/gal in Atlanta.

Wow and GA is normally one of the cheapest states in the US for gas. Here in central FL all of the stations have lines at the pumps, prices around 2.90 and some of them have run out of gas.

Its 3.09 in WI as of tonight. It started the day before yesteday at 2.67, then went up to 2.79, 2.89, 2.99 and is now at 3.09. WTF?
