At first, I thought you were talking about Richard Hess. But he's pretty cool, not what you described. He's a DAL pilot, gave me my insurance required aerobatics check out in my employers Yak-52. Good guy. Learned a lot, and it was a blast. He flies a CJ at airshows and such. I would recommend him. Not sure how to get in touch with him, at this point...... PM me if you feel like pursuing him, and I'll do what I can.

Anybody have any recomendations on takeing aerobatic lessons in atlanta. (beginner)

Look up a guy named Lee Kleuger at KRYY (MCCollum). He has access to a Decathalon. Aso, one of his normal gigs is to fly a Yellow bi-plane that he sells rides in. He has a zillion hours, knows his stuff, and is a good guy. You can contact him from either of the two flight schools at McCollum.

Superior flight school at RYY is where he teaches. Great guy! he teaches in a Dacathalon. I have personally flown with him and had a blast.

And he's expensive and kind of an a$$.

Bill Mercure at Silver Ace Aviation...I've always found him to be a stand-up guy. His son may be instructing as well (also a DL guy). I'd say give him a call and you be the judge.

Mine is just one man's experience, and it's years old. I just found a layer of arrogance in that hangar that was hard for me to get excited about punching through. I've worked around Mr. Kluger @ RYY(mentioned above) in the past, as well, and there's much less of a locker room, "rah rah us!!" mentality around him.

Again, one man's opinion.
