thanks for the info. Can you tell me what competitive mins are for fo? I am looking to transition from 135.

I can't remember exactly what the mins were, 1500 I think. But I know there were several at the interview that had between 2000 and 3000. I would guess that you are ok. Although they could change things when they start hiring again. They do like the peeps who have been slogging it out shooting approaches for a living. From the comments when I got the call, the sim eval carries some weight, so the freight dogs can shine.
Good luck -batfish

Do they require the fe written? I believe I read that they have pfe's but was curious if I still needed the written. Thanks. Oh, do you need an inside rec to make any progress with the ap?

No FE written needed. They have all PFE's currently. I don't know if the rec is required, but it doesn't hurt. I think only a couple (including me), had one with the last round. Good luck! -batfish

No FE Written......For Pilot Positions....

We hire only PFE's

I think the posted mins were 2500/500 multi. I interviewed with 3700/ 570 multi, single pilot freight backround no 121 time.I am looking forward to class everyone was very nice and it seems like a great place to be!!

What are the busy seasons at ATI? I was wondering if furloughs are very common, and if they are what time of the year they can be expected.

Our only real busy time is when we support peak operations for UPS lately, USPS years back. That's only short term work. We don't do Hajj or anything like that, so busy times are really dependent on BAX freight loads. Typically, things are a bit slower in the Jan-Mar time frame than the rest of the year, but that's not a given. Long term military contracts have been drying up as they start using in-house assets as opposed to contractors in the narrow-body sectors, and charters are always hit or miss.

Furloughs have unfortunately been an ugly part of our picture. We had a massive three-tiered layoff that started in 2000 and extended into 2001 before they recalled, then another in 2004, and yet another multi-tiered one in 2006. These aren't seasonal furloughs ala Evergreen or Tower of yore. Each had their own set of events that drove them, the most recent being a change of ownership and loss of some military flying. A lot of good people got screwed in these "business plans", but I have to admit that each time, the company seems to have come out smaller but stronger, at least in some respects. The last furlough is just ending and now we have new hire classes scheduled. Hope the new folks don't get to experience the bad side of our history.

I am very interested in ATI, and currently looking to make a move from 135 into the cargo arena. I currently have 2300 with 1500 multi and just hit 1000 turbine pic(king air). Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
