Sorry to hear this for the folks at ATI. I actually enjoyed flying for them until I was furloughed in 01. They recalled me a few months later, and I am glad I didn't go back.

You are right about Jeff, I hear he went to Omni and runs their training department. I learned more about flying at ATI than anywhere else I ever worked.

Yes he is at OMNI and from what I hear doing a great job there too. Several from ATI are now in MGMT/Checks at OMNI so maybe the ATI guys can get picked up there or elsewhere. ATI was a great group of folks and I just wished thier MGMT would quit jerking these guys around.

There go's another good airline. Air Transport International (Operates for BAX out of Toledo DC-8's for those not familar.) Is furloughing and plans to park 4 aircraft and scrap them. The pink slips are in the mail and those furloughed are out of work as of Sept 26th.

Are they closing the doors or just cutting back?

Good luck to all

Semi official word is that we are going to return 4 aircraft to the lesasor as they have a buyer for them in Chile. Also they are going to furlough 24 crews. The chief pilot says don't expect these to be temporary furloughs. Personally, having been with ATI for 9 years, I think it's going down the toilet. Since Peter Fox, the guy who owns Capital Cargo, bought us, it has has been a downward spiral. This used be the best place I've ever worked, and I've worked at some bottom feeders, now it's just getting to be a downright crappy place to work. 5 engineers and 3 fo will be furloughed as of sept 23. 5 capts will be downgraded at that time. The rest of the furloughs/downgrades are expected to coincide with the end of the current bid cycle which is october 24th. Of course management hasn't come out with anything. These tidbits of information have all come from our new chief pilot, who I believe is feeling alittle bit guilty. As he was a junior FO WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN FURLOUGHED!!! With 9years senority I expect to be furloughed, some people with 12+ years are to be furloughed! All of this is coming from a company that made 8 MILLION DOLLARS in profit in the first quarter of 2006. Makes one wonder WTF has happened. We have plenty of business, ad hoc charter business is real good. So WTF??? Any way if Peter Fox ever shows any interest in your airline, take your money and run. If any body has any leads for a PFE job I would really appreciate it. John

Very sad news indeed...
Didn’t Deutsche Bahn buy BAX then spin off ATI? It seems anything the germans touch quickly to turn to crap.
Best wishes to the good folks at ATI.

Hi John, send your stuff into Kalitta Air, Im not sure what the hiring is doing right now, but you never know.

Sad for ATI

Hate to hear the news about ATI. I got to know a few of those guys while I was running the airfield in Diego Garcia. Great bunch of folks, and sux to see what was a well run operation shot in the head by some management a$$holes.
