The wife and I are headed to Athens in September, any suggestions for "off the beaten path" things to do & " must see's"?

Perfect season to see Greece. Best advice I can offer is to potter over to Piraeus and catch a slowboat to the first island that takes your fancy. If you've got a bit more cash to burn, there's a airline what operates twotters on floats that'll also get you to the islands. In either case, go to the islands!

My wife and I went a couple of years ago and loved it. From Athens we rented a car and drove to some ancient sights (can only think of Delphi off the top of my head). Also flew out to Santorini and Mykonos. Definitely recommend Santorini, it's absolutely beautiful.
