Thanks for the info guys, even though im going through with my pilot carrer and joining the Air National Guard i was currious about how to become an ATC'er without joining the military. However i think once im in the ANG i could always go active duty and cross train into ATC. I know it would be alot of work but it could happen.

Contract tower, maybe? In FAA towers, high seniority gets you better days off and your pick of vacation time, but not much else.

Trust me, I know-- I was #3 in seniority at O'Hare, and it didn't get me diddly. <g>
