Then I guess non-drinkers (or non beer drinkers) need not apply? There really ARE pilots who don't drink.

Our Pilot-type interviewer, Gary, said that when he interviewed years ago he ordered a beer in spite of being a non-drinker- he just didn't drink it I guess. He and the other beer ordering guys got hired. Nobody that didn't order a drink got hired. I get the feeling that that's no longer the case. After dinner (most of us ordered 1 beer at dinner) we met at the hotel bar and hung out for a few hours, so we all (including one of our sim evaluators) ended up having several. I think it's more of a social thing than a drinking thing.

BTW: We got out of the sim at about 1830.

ps- Sharon told me on the phone to expect the travel details email by a certain day, and I hadn't received it so I emailed her the following day and got the email the day after that. One thing that was stressed over and over: do NOT hassle the Chief Pilot Office ladies. They even told us about a few guys that had 'drowned in the pool' after being hired by hassling the ladies about class dates.
