I received an application from ATA last summer (July 2002) and filled it out and sent it back in within 2 weeks. Since then I have sent in resumes now and then to show I'm still out here and I'm still interested.

Yesterday June 24, 2003, I received another application in the mail telling me "thanks for the recent resume, please fill out this application." Does anyone know whether I received this application because my current one is about to expire or what this may mean (if anything)?? Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

If you just sent in a resume without a rec letter, consider yourself a lucky man. They normally don't do that. More than likely the one that you sent in July may have been tossed. Take your time and put some thought in the essays and fire it back in. Good luck.
