Anybody know what the pay scales at ATA are? What are the junior bases? How does reserve work? What kind of sched can a new hire expect? thank you for the info...

Junior base is MDW. 3 kinds of reserve; "B" is a 12 hour call out, "A" is a 2 hour call out, and there is also "H", but that has never been used. "H" basically stands for "hotel", if you are put on reserve "H" you will be paid per diem, even if you are in your base, and the company will pay for your hotel, even if you are in your base. The caveat is that it is a 30 minute call out from positive contact to hotel lobby report (or 60 minutes to airport if you decide to stay at home/crashpad). If you have a reserve B line, you can only be upgraded to "A" a total of 6 times in the month. If you are on a reserve A line, you get 14 days off instead of 12, and I believe that if you are on a reserve A or B line you can only be upgraded to "H" three times in a month, but I am not at all sure about that since I am never on reserve. I think most recent new hires are getting off of reserve in just a few months, since there are some fairly senior people who live in their base and just bid reserve instead of a line. Kind of schedule a new hire can expect depends on the plane you get, 737 pretty much all domestic stuff, 757 domestic and international, L-10 get extra pages in your passport because you are gonna see the world.

Pay? That's easy. Right now 12 yr domestic CA pay on the 75 is AA + 8%.

By July 2005 it will be AA + 13% on the 75. And AA + 19% on the 73-800. :D

How many 12 year Capts do you have on the 757? I knew a guy there that was a 757 Capt in his 2nd year, and that was 3 years ago.

Bye Bye--General Lee;)

Lots, I'd say. And I've flown with a few 5 - 6 year Capts on the 757 too. Not too shabby! Might have even been your buddy.
Btw, our max L10 pay is only $2.67 less than AA 777 pay. Just thought someone might like to know.

Bwaaahaaahaaahaa!

Rudder, that is the best pay scale comparison I've seen in awhile! I love it! I only wish I could post it on every AA plane. I would love to see those arrogant aaholes when they read that comparison. Good for you guys, and I hope all continues to go well for you.

By the way, I was furloughed from that hellhole, and I've never seen a more deserving bunch when it comes to hard times. Think those idiots will ever learn? Doubt it!

12 yr 757 captains

General Lee:

There are 200 total 757 captains as of December 1 '03, and of those 200 there are 93 with 12 or more years seniority. The most junior 757 captain was hired in Nov of '98.
