Does anybody know if ATA still has a nepotism clause? Just wondering. Half of the workforce at ATA doesn't even know that there is such a thing. They were supposedly doing away with it a year or two ago. Obviously, that is the least of their concerns given the day to day ops of a major airline and the fact that there are 9000 pilots on the street lining up at the door. It helps (to a very small degree) to reduce the number of resumes that they recieve every day. I might add..the $25 app fee, yes it sucks, but it too helps cut down on the number of resumes they have to look over. Once again to a small degree. You may be out of work,as I am, but have you spent $25 in the last week on that application fee for that new apartment, beer, cigs, movies, eating out, lottery tickets,a new cd/dvd? Any or all the above? Remember when American had a thirty day window and a $100 app fee? It could be worse. I digress. Thanks for bearing with me. Thanks for any info.

Nepotism at ATA

All I can tell you is that a guy I went through basic indoc with (he's in the 738) has a wife employed at ATA although I'm not sure in what department. So I guess there is no clause or people break it if there is. Hope this helps.

With yer brother's new 'Born Again Company Man' attitude, I'd go ahead and have him write you a recommendation, Mike. At least to get the app (if you haven't already got one).

I hope there is some consolation in the unemployment by having both xmas and New Year's off in the same year for once (though I managed to get both of them off, as well).

Hang in there, Man.
