ATA Airlines is Now BIGGER than Ever in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ATA Airlines, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATAH - News) today announced new nonstop service from Indianapolis to St. Thomas and direct service to San Juan, and increased nonstop service from Indianapolis to Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, St. Petersburg/Tampa and Ft. Myers. ATA will now serve more nonstop destinations from Indianapolis (15) than any other airline, including three resort destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico. ATA's new, seasonal nonstop service from Indianapolis to St. Thomas and direct service to San Juan will be effective December 18, 2004. The service will operate Saturday only, nonstop to St. Thomas and one-stop to San Juan. Return service is nonstop from San Juan and one-stop from St. Thomas.

Effective November 20, 2004, ATA will provide the following nonstop service additions: -- Ft. Lauderdale service will increase from one to two daily round- trips; -- Orlando service will increase from two to three daily round-trips; -- St. Petersburg/Tampa service will increase from two to three daily round-trips; and -- Ft. Myers service will increase from seven to 14 weekly round-trips.

"As Indy's hometown airline, this expansion underscores ATA's continuing commitment to our Indianapolis customers and the Indianapolis market," said John Happ, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales. "ATA's fleet is one of the youngest of any major carrier which means our flights out of Indianapolis feature spacious, full-size Boeing 737 and 757 jets and, coming in late fall, Business Class service on all jet flights as well."

Together, ATA and its partner, ATA Connection*, will operate 43 daily departures from Indianapolis, effective November 20, 2004. This represents 19.7 percent of weekday departures and 25.3 percent of the seats from Indianapolis. ATA carries over 25 percent of all Indianapolis passengers, more than twice the amount of the next largest airline.
