Got the call, 11/21 interview. Lookin to buy some 727 time to knock the rust off since I've been flyin the couch for a few months. Chicago would be best, but if anyone knows of any good/cheap prep out there please help with the info.

Thanks

willard-

I don't know about the Chicago area but you can actually rent some 727 time in the same sim that ATA uses. The sim is at Purdue University and the person to contact is John Young at 765-494-9969. I was going to rent some time before my interview but for one reason or another, it just didn't work out for me. In the end, I got the job. Good Luck.

I sent in my app about a year and a half ago. Good luck!

Thanks willard. I sent mine in the first of July and had just about given up. Your story gives me hope that I might still be in the pile somewhere. I hear they may hire into the 757 - I've got about 1500 hours and a type in the plane and would give anything to trade in my Airbus for the big Boeing.

Good luck to you on the interview.

They are planning on hiring approximately 20 - 24 new hires directly into the 757 in the near future.

This was communicated to us in our last bid put out last week.

How Long?

Does anyone know how long it takes from time that an ATA pilot submits your resume til you receive your application?

Thanks,
Humble

Humblepilot-

If your resume was sent in along with a LOR from a current ATA employeee, then it should be just a few short weeks before you get an application. I believe that I waited approx. two weeks before the app came in the mail. If you can, get a hold of the essay questions and start working on them. They take time and I'm sure you want to get the app back to IND as quick as possible.

Hey Willard,

I rented some time in the Purdue sim the day before my interview, it was well worth it. They know the ATA people and give you the same profile in the exact sim that you will have the interview ride.

I was interviewed 9/16 and am still awaiting a class date. The interview was really laid back, they really put you at ease.

Good Luck!

hey FNG, i interviewed on the 19th and am also awaiting a class. do you have any info. on how many are in the pool now and when the next class might be? thanks

Not sure if this makes any difference, but I had sent a resume in a few weeks ago WITHOUT any employee reference and received an application about a week later. Just hope it doesn't get hopeless from this point on! Would love to hear from them in the near future!

application timeline

I got the call to interview this week as well. I sent them a resume in March, updated in June. Got an application in July and sent it in in early August. Interview on the 20th.

Anyone know if the gouge on aviationinterviews.com and willfly4food is still current?

Absolutely.

I was told they have since eliminated the hotel stay the night before as well as the lunch with the interviewers.
